Wildcrafted Labrador tea leaf   25 grams

Botanical Name: Rhododendron groenlandicum / Ledum groenlandicum

Origin : Alberta, Canada

Labrador Tea is a shrub indigenous to North America- it is utterly unrelated to the Asian tea plant. It grows in peat bogs and other acidic environments around Greenland, Canada, and northern American states. Its thin, feathery leaves make an incredible infusion. Its golden, lightly pale liquor with a resinous taste is reminiscent of pine and citrus and a sweet, lingering aftertaste.

LABRADOR TEA was one of the most widely used medicinal herbs by the First Nations of Canada.During the American Revolution, it was one of several herbs used as a pleasant-tasting substitute for commercial tea. The Hudson’s Bay Company imported the dried plants into London as a beverage tea under the name weesukapuka.

Labrador tea has high essential oil content, which explains its therapeutic value. Indeed, its listed properties are antibiotic, decongestant, antiseptic, antispasmodic, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, analgesic. Labrador tea is recommended to treat headaches and migraines, dysentery, bladder disorders, flu, difficult breathing, stomach problems, arthritis and muscular pain.

In the end, being a sedative, it is very good to overcome insomnia and sleep disorders.

Warning
This plant has narcotic properties. If taken in concentrations that are too high, it can cause symptoms of intoxication that can lead to paralysis and death.
Research suggests that drinking no more than one cup of Labrador tea per day is the maximum to obtain the digestive, calmative and vitamin C benefits but to avoid any potential side effects.

It’s not recommended for children or women who are pregnant or nursing.

Our Labrador Tea is higher quality because it's freshly harvested by knowledgeable family  from the wild, as well as it's stored in the cold and dark. It contains a high content of essential oils.
